Rachel Valenta – MPH International Program

My name is Rachel Valenta. I was born and raised in Georgia, USA and made aliyah to Haifa about 4 years ago.

I have a passion for learning that has led me to study a variety of subjects.  I completed my undergraduate BAs at Binghamton University in New York, before returning to Georgia to work at Cox Enterprises in Data Analytics and Marketing. While working at Cox, I decided to complete a Masters in Marketing at Georgia State University that allowed me more room for growth in the marketing industry.

After working for 6 years in Marketing, I realized I wanted to return to Neuropsychology so I began working at laboratories at Technion and then Bar-Ilan. At Technion I researched meta-cognition in different cultural contexts and at Bar-Ilan I studies components of emotional affect disorders and global versus local mindsets.

My research has nurtured my passion for mental health and desire to help people. This passion has led me to the MPH program and the Integrative Pain Laboratory where I hope to gain the knowledge to best use my skills to better the health industry and flourish in Neuropsychology research.
